Events: a great night out at Playhouse Nightclub

Big Vino is an authentic comedic voice whose hilarious anecdotes and candid insights endear him to all generations. From relationship advice to snack tips, no topic is off limits to larger-than-life personality.

You may have seen him at the Improv, the Laugh Factory and the Funny Bone but Vino’s journey started in Newark, New Jersey where he was born and raised. As a child, his natural charisma and eagerness to entertain should have been a clue to what his future would hold. But like far too many who grew up in the urban jungle, the temptation of “Street Life” would seduce him and he would squander years of potential deeply invested in a game that would claim so many of his friends’ lives. At his core, Big Vino sought to leave the lifestyle of drugs and crime, so he packed up and moved away from everything he knew to try his hand at ordinary life in Virginia.

Adjusting to legitimate work was harder than expected and Vino soon found himself itching to get back to his old ways. That is until an old friend reminded him of a time when he joked his way out of a gunfight. It was the elephant in the room he had been ignoring his whole life. He’d learned to use his sense of humor and street savvy to navigate through life, why not take those same skills to the stage?

A true comedy rookie, Big Vino AKA #MrFeedYoGirl, looked to debut his raw talents on one of the biggest of stages: a packed house at the Virginia Beach Funny Bone’s Clash of the Comics. That night he captured the audience’s hearts and indefinitely set the tone for his career as another great comedian to be cultivated by Virginia’s top comedy club.

Although he didn’t win that night, victory would not elude him long and he would soon be added to the club’s roster of paid regulars. 

Since then, thousands of fans have been left crying from laughter in his wake in comedy clubs around the country. He has opened for some of the biggest names in comedy (Cocoa Brown, D.L. Hughley, Ali Siddiq, Finesse Mitchell, Karlous Miller, Micheal Colyar, etc) and have been stamped “Next Up”. Don’t miss your opportunity to catch this rising star live on stage!

Johnny Woods is a stand-up comedian known for his unique style of observational comedy. His material ranges from personal anecdotes to social commentary, always delivered with a touch of self-deprecating humor. Whether he’s talking about the frustrations of modern relationships, the joys of being a parent, or the challenges of growing older, Johnny’s stand-up is always relatable, funny, and on-point. He just gets it. Johnny has shared the stage with such acts as Sam Tallent, Derrick Stroup, Ryan Niemiller, David Lucas, Donnel Rawlings, Damon Darling and Aj Wilkerson. Nick Taylor is a comedian based out of Ohio who has performed in comedy clubs all over the country. He is a regular at the Bricky’s Comedy Club (Dayton), The Grisly Pear Comedy Club (NYC) and The Comedy Shop (NYC). Nick has been featured on Amazon TV, and has opened up for the likes of Mike Vecchione, Godfrey, Chris Porter and Bert Kreischer. Nick’s joke writing, riffing and unique perspective has made him a rising comedian in the country. 

Originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Ty McLaurin managed Laughing Gas Comedy Club for almost four years where he observed the art and met thousands of comics including some of the biggest names in the industry. He is the originator of Stumptown Comedy Jam, widely considered as the best independently produced comedy show in the greater Charlotte area. He was booked in five different states in 2024, doing multiple shows per week for the bulk of the year. With a larger-than-life personality and an edgy, dark sense of humor, Ty McLaurin intrigues audiences’ night after night. 

Kyle Kemper is a professional stand-up comedian who has won multiple comedy competitions in the Midwest, including the Wiley’s Fireworks Competition, which consists of some of the best up and coming comedians in the country. Kyle’s high energy and unique, young person perspective on the world is what always makes him a fan favorite. His quick wit and ability to improvise with the audience is what has helped him become a staple at clubs across the Midwest.

Mark Perkins is a stand up comedian and podcaster based out of Dayton, Ohio. Mark was a regular at Wileys Comedy Club and has performed at comedy clubs and bars all across the Midwest. He has hosted and performed on many different Don’t Tell Comedy shows and even produces his own shows in his hometown of Dayton and the surrounding areas. Mark is 1 of 3 comics on the Shoutout Podcast where he and fellow comics let loose and talk as if there were no cameras around while also giving shoutouts to their favorite subjects. He has worked with comics such as Ryan Singer, Aaron Berg, David Lucas and Matt Braunger. 

Amy Brown’s silly smart standup reflects on motherhood, married-hood, dyslexia, and the perils of shorty shorts. Her debut special “Indoor Wife” is out now on her Youtube (Amy Brown Comedy) where you can also find her weekly podcast, Amy Brown Comedy Podcast. Accolades include touring around the country as a headliner for Moms Unhinged, opening for Real Housewife of New York, Sonja Morgan in Sonja In Your City, Joe Dombroski, Katherine Blanford, April Macie, Emmy Blotnick, Liza Treyger, Ali Macofsky & Adrienne Iapalucci. Ryan McKee is an Emmy-winning comedian, writer, and producer with over 20 years of standup experience. He’s performed in clubs, theaters, and even prisons across the country. His writing and producing credits include The Late Late Show with James Corden, MTV’s Ridiculousness, and the Sports Gambling Podcast Network, where he co-hosts The Stephie Smalls Show. Ryan’s standup blends sharp storytelling with personal insight, covering everything from dating and divorce to midlife reinvention. Originally from Arizona and now based in Wilmington, NC, he continues to tour and create comedy for stage, screen, and digital platforms.

A US Army veteran and one of NC ‘s funniest comedians for 14 years. He brings an energetic, and bold style of comedy, with a natural ability to work any crowd. Currently touring with Laugh it Off Comedy Tour at VFWs all over helping veterans heal through laughter.

He has shared the stage with known comedian veterans such as Shed “Can I Vent” G (Tyler Perry Movies), Nick Lewis (Def Comedy Jam Bad Boyz of Comedy), and more. Graced famous stages around the U.S. such as Comedy Cabana (Myrtle Beach, NC), DeadCrow Comedy Club (Wilmington, NC), Goodnights (Raleigh, NC), Comedy Zone (Greensboro, NC).

Winner of the 2024 March Madness Comedy Competition. Kayla started her comedy career in 2022 and has not stopped bringing laughs to audiences. She is the host at Starlight on 22nd Comedy Open Mic in Charlotte NC.

Delisia Nicholas is a storyteller and crowd favorite known for delivering big laughs. A Gulf Coast standout and proud Pensacola native, she’s performed on stages across the country, turning real-life moments into unforgettable comedy.

Davey Jackson is a stand up comedian and podcaster based in Texas. His real life stories about growing in a homeschool cult and recovering from drug addiction will have you laughing non-stop.

Davey has appeared on the Kill Tony show multiple times, Just For Laughs Vancouver, and performed with numerous popular comedians including Tim Dillon, Matt Rife, Pauly Shore, Mark Normand, Jiaoying Summers, Adam Ray, and more!

Davey also hosts the hit podcast “Friends with Davey” and has amassed a large social media following for his hilarious videos, which have been featured extensively, including appearances in Rolling Stone Magazine, NPR, and various national programs.

With her razor-sharp wit and undeniable charm, Della Temple is a comedy force to be reckoned with! Della has done stand up at many iconic venues such as The Comedy Store Hollywood, Laugh Factory Hollywood, The Hollywood Improv, The Comedy Store La Jolla, and Top Secret Comedy Club in London, England. Della starred on True Life on MTV and has acted in a comedy series alongside Andrew Santino and Fortune Feimster on the All Things Comedy Network. Originally from Dallas, Texas Della moved to Hollywood to chase her stand up dreams. She is now based in Austin, TX where it is slightly less woke.

Justin Governale is a standup comic, Former Marine Scout Sniper, Jiu Jistu Black Belt, and competed on two grueling Seasons of Discovery Channel’s Naked & Afraid and has appeared on Kill Tony.
